: Storyline :
8 A.M. Metro 2023 Hindi Movie : After India’s crushing defeat in the 1952 Olympics, coach Syed Abdul Rahim faced the threat of dismissal but defended himself, blaming poor management for the team’s failure. Determined to rebuild, he set his sights on the 1956 Olympics, insisting on selecting players from across the country. However, he faced strong opposition from media tycoon Mr. Roy and the football committee, who favored Bengal-based players.
Against all odds, Rahim’s team secured a historic fourth-place finish in the 1956 Olympics, a record that still stands. In the 1960 Olympics, their remarkable performance against France earned admiration from both Indian and French fans. However, this period also marked a personal and professional struggle for Rahim, as he was diagnosed with lung cancer and given only a short time to live. Despite his deteriorating health, he remained hopeful of returning to lead India’s football team in the 1962 Asian Games.
